Our story

About us

A café, a workshop and a stubborn belief that everyone should make something with their hands now and then.

An old workshop with a new job

In 2021 Zuzana and Marek found an empty building in Kežmarok's old town that had been a cooper's workshop, then a shoe shop, then nothing for eleven years. The ground floor had big windows and an awkward counter. The upstairs had good light and a floor strong enough for a kiln.

The plan was simple: sell coffee downstairs to pay for the clay upstairs. Three years later the café pays the rent, the classes are full most weekends, and there are five 3D printers in what used to be the storeroom.

Mess is welcome

Nobody is “not creative”. You're just out of practice. Wonky first bowls are the point.

Local first

Coffee from a Slovak roaster, cakes baked here, clay from a Central European supplier, offcuts recycled.

Small groups

Six people per pottery class, five per printer session. Enough to be fun, few enough to get help.

Come and see

The best way to understand the place is to sit downstairs with a coffee and listen to the wheels humming above you. Then come up and have a go.
